Not sure if you know this already, but some companies, like Citi Bank, have "virtual" credit card numbers that you can use for on-line purchases. They are "one time use" numbers that are not traceable back to your regular credit card number. Thus, you are less susceptible to on-line credit card fraud or identity theft. I'm not sure how many companies offer this service, but you might ask your bank or check with your credit card company. It could save you some aggravation in the long run.
Just thought I'd pass it along.

Another great way to stay safe while shopping online is to use Bill Me Later. At checkout, just click on Bill Me Later as your payment option, answer two basic questions for a quick credit check, and approval is within 3 seconds. Then, you get a bill in the mail a few weeks later, which you can either pay in full or pay over time (just like a credit card account). I work for Bill Me Later and use it all the time because it's safer and more convenient than using credit cards. For more info, go to www.billmelater.com.
